Hey y'all, took my Pathfinder up north of the Arctic Circle for a 2600-mile snowboarding trip in -35 to -40°F cold.

Had to start it every 3 hours, even with a thermal blanket. :D

Engine stayed cold, heater crapped out for 30-40 mins at a time, headlights froze inside, but the battery held up. Rough ride, but it got us through! Anyone who tried this? I bet you had fun ;)

thats awesome!! great experience i bet. Not yet, but we're about to experience that challenge very soon. hope we'd get by without much casualties lol

I unfortunately have not had the luxury of time to do this. That is so nice. I wouldn't mind losing a couple thousand mileage as long as it's for a fun trip. Your Pathfinder is damn commendable for it. Congratulations mate!

I feel vehicles like the Pathfinder aren't really built for true Arctic conditions. People romanticize these trips, but forcing a consumer SUV through -40°F temps is just mechanical abuse disguised as adventure...I stand corrected!
