I’m looking to tow a 21 boxy trailer around 5000lbs with a 2022 or newer Nissan Pathfinder using a weight distributing hitch and brake controller. I saw something in around April 2024 consumer reports issue that seemed off possibly a typo about its towing performance database. Has anyone towed a similar setup at highway speeds with the newer pathfinder? How does it handle and is there any sway or stability issues? Appreciate any real world feedback

The 2022 and newer Pathfinder can pull up to 5,000 pounds if you've got the right stuff, a weight-distributing hitch, brake controller, and the full towing package. Plus, it has sway control to keep things steady when you're on the highway.

Got your hitch and brake controller sorted out?

Nah, just started doing my research and ask around. Do those 'right stuff' cost that much? That sounds like an expensive package on top of the unit

My dad has towed close to 5,000 lbs with his'22 using a weight distributing hitch and brake controller, I was skeptical at first but surprisingly highway cruising was good, no major sway, you just have to make sure you balance the load properly and use sway control if you're hauling longer trailers or hit crosswinds
